The rivalry between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia could face another test if K’Ogalo carries on with their winning form in the next five games.

Gor Mahia picked the first three points of the available 24 in the month of August when they edged out Kariobangi Sharks 3-0 in Kisumu on Wednesday.

Another 15 points for the league leaders will hand coach Dylan Kerr a second Kenyan Premier League title. That kind of performance will not be good news for Ingwe', who will be forced to form a guard of honour for their perennial rivals during the Mashemeji Derby.

If the champions win their next five matches – against Nakumatt, Bandari, Kakamega Homeboyz, Chemelil Sugar and Sofapaka - then AFC Leopards will have no option but to form a guard of honor for their rivals on August 25.

The tie will be an interesting one considering that K’Ogalo picked their fourth victory in the last five games against Ingwe barely two weeks ago when they handed them a 2-1 defeat at Kasarani.

Gor Mahia are currently 15 points off second-placed Sofapaka and with no clears signs that K’Ogalo are in the mood to drop points, five victories between now and August 25 will see them hit the 80 point-mark.

Not even Sofapaka will be able to catch pace with them even if they win all their remaining matches. AFC Leopards are joint third with Bandari on the log with 39 points, one behind Sofapaka on second place.
