The newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year award faces his former side on Tuesday and the Netherlands international is wary of his form

Ahead of their Uefa Champions League semi-final clash with Liverpool, AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman has called Mohamed Salah 'the most dangerous player right now'.

Salah, fresh off his PFA Player of the Year win following his outstanding performances in the English Premier League, will lead Jurgen Klopp's charges when the Giallarossi visit Anfield for the first leg of their last-four tie on Tuesday.

And Strootman, teammates with the 25-year-old during his successful two-year stint at the Italian capital, is wary of the progress of the Egypt international who has a return of a whooping 41 goals so far in his debut campaign with the Reds.

"Salah is definitely the most dangerous player right now and we won't be friends on the pitch,” Strootman told La Repubblica .

"I've tried to call him lately but he doesn't pick up the phone. He must have changed his number like six times. I will write to him after the semi-final."

Salah has been instrumental in Liverpool's run to the semi-finals of the Champions League, scoring nine goals in 12 games where he has featured for 915 minutes.

The attacker will be hoping to add to his haul of 41 goals in Tuesday's encounter against his former side.
