Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has eased talk of a possible title challenge at this stage of the season because they are still a work in progress, not to mention the marathon state of the PSL.

“A house is built from the foundation up and I would like us to pick up points. This is what the marathon called the PSL is all about. We will upgrade to go into the second round stronger,” Sredojevic told the media.

The Serbian mentor is also pleased with the fact they have remained solid defensively in their three matches.

They have conceded only eight goals in 13 matches to date, and ‘Micho’ credits the players for proving their worth this term.

“In the last two competitive games last season, Nedbank Cup final included (which they lost 4-1 to SuperSport), we conceded 10 goals," he said.

“We’ve proved that we are a competitive team this year and I give credit to the players for working hard, as we played three matches without conceding,” Sredojevic said.

What is of massive concern to the former Uganda national coach is the lack of one-touch finishing that’s well-documented across the entire league.

“Training can sometimes fool us technically. We have a problem with one-touch finishing in the country. If one touch is a problem, let us use the first touch to put the ball at the right angle and the second to put it into the net,” added Sredojevic.
