Match Preview: Yanga vs Mbao FC

Yanga's last defeat against Mwadui was the fourth in a row

Yanga will try to overcome their poor spell when they play host to Mbao FC in the league on Tuesday at the Benjamini Mkapa National Stadium.

The Jangwani outfit have already lost the league title to Simba and they are winless in the past nine games in all competitions since the departure of George Lwandamina.

The team is under caretaker Noel Mwandila and Shadrack Nsajigwa with the newly head coach Congolese Mwinyi Zahera departed yet to start his tenure.

They have not won in six premier league games since April, and their last defeat against Mwadui was the fourth in a row.

“The current results have disappointed us all, but we will keep trying to overcome the situation,” said Nsajigwa after the Mwadui defeat.

Yanga head into this game knowing that a win will help them narrow the deficit with second placed Azam at the league table.

However, Mbao will head into the game with confidence after they secured an important win against Stand United last Friday.

The win helped them to reassure their safety after what was a tense second round.

Yanga will be without Kelvin Yondani who is banned from league games since his mis-conduct against Asante Kwasi in the Dar es Salaam Derby.

Donald Ngoma is also still sidelined due to injury but the likes of Amis Tambwe and Thaban Kamusoko are expected to take part in the game.
