Lobi Stars’ Okpotu predicts Abia Warriors’ fall

Lobi Stars’ striker, Anthony Okpotu has disclosed that the Pride of Benue are only thinking of a positive result against Abia Warriors on Sunday.

The Makurdi men are joint seventh on the league log with FC Ifeanyiubah with 47 points from 32 games but with only five points from their last four games, Okpotu hinted that only the maximum points will do against the Warriors in their bid to close in on a top three finish.

“It was so unfortunate that we had to draw at home to Plateau United but we put our acts in order to get a draw in Gombe. We have another equally tough encounter against Abia Warriors this weekend. They will be coming all out to regain the lost points at home to FC Ifeanyiubah,” he told Goal.

“We know that we are not performing too badly but only the three points will be adequate against Abia Warriors. With some of our rivals playing away, it is an opportunity for us to close in on them and boost our chances of ending the season in the top three.

“Lobi Stars’ chances on finishing among the best three teams are very bright and we can make it brighter with a positive result on Sunday. I hope to contribute my quota with goals. I have 14 already and I am not satisfied yet with the ones I have scored.”
