Levante announce the signing of Ghana striker Dwamena

Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena has joined La Liga side UD Levante from Swiss club FC Zurich in a four-year deal, both clubs have confirmed.

Russian club CSKA Moscow were eyeing the 22-year-old as a replacement for Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa who recently joined Al Nassar in Saudi Arabia.

"Levante UD and FC Zurich have agreed to the transfer of player Raphael Dwamena, who will be linked to the Orriols club for the next four seasons," a club statement read.

"We welcome him on board to his new home and wish him well," the statement added.

Dwamena, who netted a total of 21 goals in 50 games for FC Zurich, including nine last season, becomes the second Ghanaian at Levante after national teammate Emmanuel Boateng.

Coach Paco Lopez's team will open their 2018-19 campaign against Real Betis on August 17.

Dwamena boasts of three international caps and two goals with Ghana.
