Kedah are in discussions with Singaporean coach Aidil Sharin Sahak, according to a source close to the trainer.

Goal has been informed that the Home United boss has began contract discussions with the five-time Malaysia Cup champions, whose 2018 campaign has ended with their Malaysia Cup group stage exit. Ff the terms are agreeable, Aidil is expected to take over at Kedah for the 2019 season.

"Kedah have begun discussions with him on Thursday, but at the same time, Indonesia's Persija, Philippines' Ceres Negros and Thai club Port FC are also keen on hiring him, the source told Goal.

The Red Eagles however chose to keep mum on this rumour. A media officer simply told us that any development can only be confirmed by club president or honorary secretary.

Aidil has led Home United since 2016, and although the Warriors have not won any titles under him, he took them to the ASEAN zonal final of the AFC Cup in 2017, and won the final in 2018, before going on to lose 11-1 on aggregate to DPR Korea's April 25 in the Inter-zone play-off semi-finals.

Whereas for Kedah, they have struggled to recapture their success under Tan Cheng Hoe, who is now the Malaysia national team head coach. Since his departure midway through the 2017 season, Kedah have gone through three head coaches.
