The Istanbul side are looking to make the necessary enforcements ahead of their European football campaign this coming season

Turkish Super Lig runners-up Istanbul Basaksehir have re-ignited their interest in Panathinaikos’ wantaway midfielder Mubarak Wakaso.

The Ghanaian midfielder who spent the second half of last season on loan to relegated Primera Division side Granada has mentioned on numerous occasions that he is not planning to honour the remainder of a three-year contract he signed with the Greens last year, citing the club’s financial challenges as a reason.

Having secured a European football spot, the Istanbul side are looking to make the necessary enforcements and after the signings of France international Gael Clichy from Manchester City and Cameroon defender Aurelien Chedjou from Galatasaray, they have now set their sights on Wakaso according to BeinSports.

The 26-year-old Black Stars international has also been heavily linked with a move to Premier League side West Ham United.

Basaksehir are home of Togolese attacker Emmanuel Adebayor and Ghanaian starlet Joseph Attamah.
