In their last match against Delhi Dynamos, they registered a convincing 4-2 win which was incidentally their first win against the capital-based side away from home.
Under the guidance of Portuguese coach Jorge Costa, the Islanders are looking forward to overturning their disappointing campaign in season four where they finished seventh on the league table with just 23 points from 18 matches.
Mumbai City FC co-owner Bimal Parekh is also confident that his team will continue their good vein of form till the business end of the season and qualify for the play-offs.
"We are very confident that we will finish in the top four. We have an important match against Chennaiyin FC. Hope that we will finish in the top four. I am very happy with the way the league is progressing. It is on the right track as we are achieving what we had expected from the league and the franchise as well," said Parekh to Goal.
In spite of going down as early as in the third minute, Mumbai showed good character to score four goals in the second half to thump Delhi in their own backyard.
Following this win, Mumbai City will play three more matches before the international break. They will lock horns against Chennaiyin FC on December 6 in their next fixture followed by matches with Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters respectively.
