ISL 2018-19: Where are the clubs headed for pre-season?

The fifth season of Indian Super League (ISL) is just a few months away and all the ten clubs have been busy scheduling their pre-season preparations. 

The last season saw Chennaiyin FC defeat Bengaluru FC in the final to clinch the title at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru in March. While the season started in November last year, an early start is on the cards this time around.

Of the ten teams, Bengaluru FC are the first to kick-start their preseason as they are scheduled to take on Turkmenistan-based club Altyn Asyr in the inter-zonal semi-finals of the AFC Cup. The two-legged fixture will take place on August 22 and 29th. With the continental duties in mind, the Blues are currently in Spain for training. 

As of August 10, only Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City are yet to confirm their preseason destinations. Kerala Blasters took part in the La Liga World tournament against Melbourne City and Girona FC in the last week of July.

Pune City, who reached the playoffs for the first time in their ISL history last season under Ranko Popovic will once again stay back in Pune for preseason under newly appointed coach Miguel Portugal.

Bengaluru FC, FC Goa and NorthEast United have opted to return to the same destination from last year for their preseason preparations.
