The Brazilian midfielder in his second season with the Mumbai club picked up an injury in their opening clash against Bengaluru FC on 19th November. He seemed to have pulled his hamstring as he stretched to reach a pass in the 11th minute before being substituted seven minutes later.
The 31-year-old was a pivotal figure in their midfield where he would often link the defence with the attack. In his absence, the club has struggled in creating goal scoring opportunities as the likes of Balwant Singh and Rafa Jorda have been forced to feed on scraps.
Meanwhile, Marcio Rosario could return to the squad for the upcoming tie against ATK after being left out of the 18 in their previous game last Sunday.
