The head coach of the winning team was in a happy mood following the win over FC Goa...

Mumbai City downed FC Goa to register their first win of the season in Indian Super League (ISL) this season. The winning team's coach believes that his side showed a different face on Saturday, after a bad loss to Bengaluru FC in their opener.

"I think that we today we showed a totally different face of what Mumbai City can be. We fought very hard to get this win. The game was a tough one but it is the type of game ISL needs for the promotion of football here in India. I'm very satisfied and proud of my players as they never lost their faith. They got up after the equaliser to get the opportunity and got it. Overall I'm very satisfied with the performance."

Mumbai City were off to a slow start against FC Goa and improved massively in the second half.

"In the second half we were more close to each other. In the first half, we were very not well synchronised. The moment we got back a little bit and closed down the spaces, the team improved. We told the players that we still have 45 minutes to go for the win and they did it. Winning brings more belief, courage and enthusiasm. The win will also help us to improve in departments."

It hasn't been easy for Guimaraes with Davinder Singh and Aibor Khongjee picking up knocks in pre-season. But the coach is satisfied with how his team has coped with the situation.

"We need to understand we have two situations - the injury of Davinder and Aibor - which happened in pre-season. So I had to make adjustments accordingly. Last season too Sehnaj Singh played well in the position he did today too. I'm satisfied with how Ruidas is doing in his defensive capacity. Gerson is a versatile player. They feel comfortable. If they don't, I know they'll tell me that.

"We have to recover from this battle next. The game has exhausted the players. We have two days to recover and then on Tuesday, we'll see what we will do for the next game," concluded the Mumbai City coach.
