Edinson Cavani delivered a 46-year goalscoring first as he kept PSG in the Ligue 1 title race with an important strike against Nancy on Saturday.

Zlatan the villain for Man Utd

Unai Emery's men looked as though they were about to drop crucial points in the race for the French top-flight crown before Serge Aurier won his side a penalty in the dying embers of the affair.

Cavani stepped up to convert the spot-kick and ensure PSG are still in the hunt for the league title alongside free-scoring Monaco and Nice.

The Uruguayan has been in scintillating form all season after replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic as PSG's main man up front.

Cavani has now scored in seven of his last eight Ligue 1 fixtures, notching nine goals in that period, after finding the back of the net against Nancy.

And the former Palermo and Napoli ace also became the first player to score 27 goals in 28 matchdays in a Ligue 1 season since Salif Keita (27) & Josip Skoblar (28) in 1970/71 against Nancy.

PSG are now joint-top of Ligue 1 with leaders Monaco on 62 points, though Leonardo Jardim's men have the chance to go three clear when they take on Nantes at Stade Louis II on Sunday.
