Henry Onyekuru, Abdul Ajagun on target as Anderlecht hold Kortrijk

The Nigerians were both on target as their clubs shared the spoils at the Guldensporen Stadion on Saturday

Nigeria international Henry Onyekuru rescued a point for the Anderlecht in their 2-2 draw against Kortrijk in their Belgian First Division A fixture.

The forward came off the bench in the 64th minute to help René Weiler’s men avoid defeat with his third league goal in six games.

Hamdi Harbaoui got the curtain raiser for the Purple and White in the 23rd minute as they maintained the lead into the half-time break.

Former Nigeria youth international, Abdul Ajagun slotted home Kristof Dhaene’s cross to grab a leveller for Kortrijk seven minutes after the restart.

Teddy Chevalier's effort in the 59th minute put De Kerels ahead but Onyekuru’s introduction for Ivan Obradovic with 26 minutes remaining saved a point for the reigning league champions.

The 20-year-old who is on loan from Everton, found the back of the net after pouncing on Thomas Kaminski’s rebound in the 76th minute.

Anderlecht remain leveled on points with Kortrijk in the Belgian topflight standings with nine points from seven games and will tackle Waasland-Beveren in their next league fixture.
