Maintaining his $3 million mansion after retirement from football is becoming a matter of concern to Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan.

Located at McCathy Hills in Accra, the 31-year-old completed the building in 2015, naming it La Basilica de Baby Jet, after his stage name ‘Baby Jet’. The three-storey house has two bars, one big swimming pool, two big halls and an escape route.

“When I started playing football abroad, I told myself I wanted to build my own dream house and by God’s grace I have it and I will stay there permanently after retirement,” Gyan said in an interview on Delay Show.

“I don’t regret buying my house, but maintaining it after retirement is one of the challenges I have right now. I think about the house every day.

“I tell myself that after retirement, I will need to maintain this house but how will that be possible. That is why I have to save money and invest well, so I can maintain my house. This is one of my challenges,” he added.

Goal understands that a baby shark which Gyan bought around $20,000 as a pet died recently at his mansion.

The striker is currently Ghana's all-time topscorer with 50 goals.
