‘Great feeling to be back’ - Onyekuru relishes return to action after seven months

Henry Onyekuru is excited to return to action after a seven-month layoff following a serious knee injury he picked up while on loan at Anderlecht.

The forward made his debut for Galatasaray in their 3-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday after joining the side in another loan deal from English Premier League side Everton.

The 21-year-old last featured in a competitive tie on December 22 for the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium outfit against Eupen where he suffered the setback.

Although he regained his fitness before the end of last season, his relationship with the Purple & White’s authority went sour and was not involved in any of their encounters.

After playing his first game for his new club, the youngster took to the social media to share his excitement.

“What a great feeling to be back on the field after such a long time,” Onyekuru tweeted.

“Pre-season is in full effect. Honoured to wear the Galatasaray kit for the first time.”

Onyekuru will hope to get more minutes under his belt when Galatasaray slug it out with Spanish side Valencia in their next friendly tie on Saturday.
