Gor Mahia draw Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi in Caf Champions League

Gor Mahia will face Malawian side Nyasa Big Bullets in the Caf Champions League, according to the draw released on Friday.

Meanwhile, Kariobangi Sharks will take on Djibouti’s Alter Solar in the lower tier, Caf Confederation Cup. K’Ogalo, who bowed out to Esperance in the first round last season, have avoided the gritty North African opponents this time out.

Gor Mahia will host the Malawian league leaders on 27/28 November before the return leg a week later at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The Blantyre based side managed by former Zimbabwe national team coach Calisto Pasuwa will have to navigate past the Kenyan champions with the winner taking on Lobi Stars of Nigeria or US Louam of Cameroon in the first round and a chance to reach the group stage of the Caf Champions league.

Bullets are regarded as the number one football club in Malawi in terms of supporters, league title winning and financial background.

It was formerly known as Bata Bullets then Total Big Bullets and in 2003, the then Malawi's President Bakili Muluzi adopted the team and renamed it Bakili Bullets.

Bullets first reached the caf Champions League Group Stages in 2004 which was one of their best season since Muluzi  take over.
