After Uganda's 1-0 home triumph over Egypt, coach Kwesi Appiah's side, on Friday, missed a glorious opportunity to move themselves back into the race as they were held to a 1-1 deadlock at home by Congo.
“I think the coach is building a team, and we already have experienced players around, so that they can gel with new ones who can fit into his system," Kingston said on GH One TV.
“I think his tactics didn’t help him against Congo, but for me, he is building his team and they should give him some time to do that.
"Already Ghanaians are not confident about our qualification chances, so I entreat them to leave the World Cup for now.
"[They should] focus on how Appiah can build a new team which will become very solid in the future."
It will be the first time since 2006 that Ghana, who take on Congo in the return encounter on Tuesday, will not play at the World Cup.
Appiah took over as Ghana coach in May.
