Mexican topflight Atlas FC have secured the services of Ghanaian playmaker Clifford Aboagye on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old joins the Foxes from Spanish outfit Granada, following an initial loan deal.

"After a year-long stay, Atlas FC have made the purchase option valid for player Clifford Aboagye from the Granada Football Club of Spain," the Mexican side announced on their official website.

"In this way, Atlas FC acquired definitively the federative rights of the midfielder, who in recent days received a medical discharge to join the first team training during this preseason, ahead of the start of the 2018 Clausura."

In his first season in Mexico, Aboagye made 15 league appearances, involving 10 starts and one goal, in 2016-17.

This campaign, the midfielder has four games - all starts - to his name so far, his limited outings due to a four-month injury layoff.

Yet to make his international debut, Aboagye represented Ghana at the 2013 and 2015 Fifa Under-20 World Cup tournaments.

He was adjudged third best player of the first event, picking up the prestigious Bronze Ball award.

He played for Inter Allies in Ghana before moving abroad.
