Ghanaian defender Godfred Asante joins Guinean club Horoya AC in a two-year deal

Dreams FC defender Godfred Asante has completed a two-year deal with Guinean giants Horoya FC, both clubs have confirmed.

The 27-year-old, who is now the fourth Ghanaian at the club after Mandela Occansey, Brefo Mensah and Sebe Baffour, believes he took the right decision and hopes to have a wonderful stay in Guinea.

“It is a good move for me and I'm really happy for it. Horoya is one of the best and well-managed clubs in Africa and I'm glad to have joined them,” Asante told footballmadeinghana.com.

“I have been monitoring their performances both in the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup over the years and they have been superb. I hope to also contribute my quota to help the club move further up,” he said.

“I have been here for few days but the fans have been fantastic. They were there in their numbers for my unveiling and I really appreciate it.

“I'm ready to do my best to make them happy. This is a club with lots of histories and I am eager to have my name in their history books.”

Asante featured 25 times for Dreams in the second-tier last season and scored three goals, as they qualified to the Ghana Premier League.
