Fidelis Ilechukwu warns MFM against complacency ahead of Go Round tie

MFM head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has warned his players against playing to the gallery if they are to record a positive result against Go Round in a league tie on Wednesday in Omoku.

It is a rescheduled league tie and the tactician charged his players to make life uncomfortable for their hosts throughout the tie as they aspire for another positive result that could take them to the mid-table.

“We know we don’t expect any easy match at this period in time and I am appealing to my players not to take Go Round for granted because of their position in the league table,” Ilechukwu told Goal.

“We are not equally where we should be in the league table and this is a good opportunity for us to increase our points haul. We must make life very difficult for them if we are to get a good result.

“Our league season’s form has not been good but we believe the game with Go Round has presented us with a chance to go in the hunt for our first away win of the season. We must try to add to the woes of our opponents on Wednesday to ensure that the points are ours.”

The gaffer acknowledged that his players committed some individual errors that culminated in their defeat to Niger Tornadoes and stressed that he expects the Olukoya Boys not to repeat the same mistakes as they tackle the Lions.

“The Tornadoes’ game was one we should have recorded at least a point but we made some mistakes which we paid for with the three points we lost," he further added.

“We can’t afford to repeat it against Go Round. We have reviewed what we did wrong in our last game and the players have been told what they must do to ensure that the points are ours at the end.”
