FA Cup: Bechem eliminated as Kotoko, Hearts progress

Ghana FA Cup title holders Bechem United were thumped 4-0 by regional rivals Berekum Chelsea in the round of 16 at the Golden City Park on Sunday.

A brace from Stephen Sarfo and a strike each by Alfred Okai Quaye and Michael Yeboah were enough to end the visitors' ambitions of defending the title.

In Kumasi, Asante Kotoko continued their impressive run under new coach Steve Polack, by picking their third win in all competitions after pipping second-tier side Wassaman United 1-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Captain Amos Frimpong slotted home the only goal of the day from the spot, after Yakubu Mohammed was brought down by Mohammed Lateef in the box.
