Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga lead Kenyans in congratulating Harambee Stars striker, Michael Olunga for setting a LaLiga landmark.
Olunga wrote history on Saturday when he became the first Girona FC player to score a hat-trick in the Spanish LaLiga match.
The Kenyan international who is on a season-long deal with the newly promoted LaLiga side, scored three goals in 57, 70 and 79th minute to shoot Girona to ninth on the log following a 6-0 win over Las Palmas.
The landmark performance also means that Olunga became the first Kenyan to score a goal in the Spanish top division.
Odinga who is also the Gor Mahia patron took to social media congratulate Olunga for his achievement.
"Congratulations to Kenyan born Michael Olunga on becoming the first @GironaFC player to score a hat-trick in the Spanish #LaLigaSantander," opposition chief tweeted.
Eto’o Achiando @EtooPepe: Michael Olunga has just scored a hat trick against Las Palmas!!!The big boy is doing us proud.
But others used the opportunity to crack to hit at some top LaLiga stars.
Collins Milanya said: Michael Olunga has more hatricks (hat-trick) 2018 than Christiano Rinaldo..let that sink in.
Jonas Giæver @CheGiaevara: As mentioned by the commentator here now; Michael Olunga now has more goals in 35 minutes of this game than Karim Benzema has the entire season.
Rohith Noir wondered: Who is this Michael Olunga at Girona? He's come on as a HT sub, bullied Las Palmas players, scored a hat-trick and grabbed an assist. There's still 10 minutes to go! #LaLiga.
