Enugu Rangers Coach Gbenga Ogunbote is optimistic that his boys can do a double over Salitas when they face the Burkinabe club in their Caf Confederation Cup matchday 5 tie on Sunday.
The Flying Antelopes’ only victory in the group phase of this competition remains the 2-0 win over Salitas in February and Ogunbote is confident that a similar result if not better can be achieved by his team at Stade du 4 Aout.
“Since we have beaten them once before, we can also repeat it again and get our way with them, we know we are going for a tough game but by God’s grace, we will come out unscathed,” he told media.
While Ogunbote is fashioning out a winning formula for Rangers against their next opponent, the gaffer is also calling for support from the club’s supporters who have been left distraught after seeing their darling team suffer back-to-back defeats against leaders, Etoile du Sahel.
“I want to apologise for the results from our last two games, we want them to still have confidence in us, they should pray for the team, pray for the success in this game that we are going for and by God’s grace it will end in praise."
Rangers are third in Group B with four points from four games and they face an uphill task of qualifying as they need to win in Burkina Faso and also consolidate with another win in their home fixture with CS Sfaxien on the final day of hostility to stand a good chance of progressing into the quarter finals.
