After being held at home by the Anambra Warriors, the People Elephants assistant coach felt sad with their slip-up

Enyimba assistant coach Usman Abdallah was unhappy with his team's failure to consolidate on their impressive run after Wednesday's 1-1 draw against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Calabar.

After Sunday's winning start to their Caf Confederation Cup campaign against Djoliba, the People's Elephants aimed to extend their excellent form over the Anambra Warriors.

Before the rescheduled tie, the hosts have been unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions this season but Pascal Seka's 43rd minute lead for the visitors almost ruined their hopes.

However, Ibrahim Mustapha second-half effort helped the hosts avoid a shocking defeat at home, though the gaffer has lamented his side's unfortunate slip-up.

He further expressed shock over their inability to secure a win in their two consecutive home ties, including against Akwa United, but acknowledges Ladan Bosso's side resilience.

"I am disappointed with the draw [against FC Ifeanyi Ubah] because this was a home game," Abdallah told media.

"Seriously, We wanted to see ourselves placed in a better position before our next [Caf Confederation Cup] match.

"We are piling up matches, even though if they were home matches, the points are not secured yet. Seriously, we are not in a good position and I'm not happy.

"I don't know [what was responsible]. There was a determination from the away team. I will give them credit because they defended well but we tried and that's football."

Despite the home slip, Enyimba are now eighth with 28 points from 18 matches and will trip to Congo to face CAVA Brazzaville next Wednesday.
