Cedric Bakambu extends Villarreal contract

Villarreal have reached an agreement with Cedric Bakambu over a new contract until 2022.

The 26-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire in 2020, but he is now set to sign a two-year extension, with Bakambu scheduled to put ink to paper on Friday.

An official statement from the club reads:

''Villarreal CF and Cédric Bakambu have reached an agreement to renew the Franco-Congolese striker until 2022. The '17' had a contract until 2020, so this extends his stay with the club for two more campaigns.’’

The Congolese joined Villareal from Bursaspor in 2015 and has scored 33 goals in two seasons.
