McCarthy says the two hitmen can cause all sorts of trouble for his troops when the two teams clash in their Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash on Sunday.
“Key players aplenty for them starting with forwards Bernard Parker and Khama Billiat. Bernard is an experienced campaigner and on his day is one of the best strikers out there while Khama is good when he’s in the mood to play,” McCarthy told the media.
“Throw in the likes of midfielders Dumisani Zuma, George Maluleka and Leonardo Castro, who is their main playmaker. From our side, our last line will have to be on their heels and switched on to keep them at bay,” he added.
On the other hand, McCarthy added that they will use pace and flair to unsettle their hosts at the Mbombela Stadium.
“That’s where we need to take command of proceedings. We must keep things simple as a starting point. Then to be solid and compact before dictating proceedings with our pace and flair,” concluded the Citizens’ coach.
Meanwhile, the two sides will battle it out for the third time in all competitions this season, Chiefs beat City 4-1 in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) match in September last year.
However, City got their revenge in the second round as they beat Chiefs 1-0 in a league clash at the FNB Stadium in January 2019.
