Agent: SuperSport United forward Dove Wome has no other offers

Indications are that Wome will remain at Matsatsantsa following his failure to secure a permanent move to the Buccaneers

While SuperSport United prepare for their MTN 8 encounter against Kaizer Chiefs next week, all indications suggest that Togo international Dove Wome will remain at Matsatsantsa for the immediate future.

Following a loan spell at Orlando Pirates during the second half of the 2016/2017 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season, it was believed that Pirates were keen on making Wome’s move to Houghton permanent. However, as previously reported the deal fell through and the 26-year-old has subsequently returned to Tshwane.

Nonetheless, Wome seems to have been given a new lease on life under Eric Tinkler at SuperSport as he has enjoyed an impressive pre-season, earning the praise of the SuperSport mentor.

“Wome is a SuperSport United player because he still has a contract with the club,” Tinkler told The Star.

“He was with us in our camp out in Polokwane and I’ve been very impressed with his application at training,” Tinkler added.

Meanwhile, Wome’s representatives are also happy with the forward’s return to SuperSport despite admitting that he was keen on a move to the Soweto giants.

“Wome has no other offers. We also didn’t look for offers since Pirates had an option (to sign him permanently),” said Michael Ngobeni of M-Sport-Management.

“He was not released from SuperSport. He is still their player and he is willing to fight for the jersey.

“Yes, he previously indicated that he will love to make his stay a permanent one at Pirates but it wasn’t to be. Football is like that. There is no harm. We just have to move on,” he concluded
