Having dominated the A-League over the past two seasons and with a notable swagger too, Sydney FC have inevitably attracted some hate but it's only driving them on according to defender Michael Zullo.

Under Graham Arnold, the Sky Blues have won every trophy on offer in Australian football but failed to win many friends in the process.

Ahead of a Big Blue semi-final against Melbourne Victory, Zullo admitted he's noticed a lack of love from other teams and that it's only spurring his side on in their search for more silverware.

"The siege mentality is something we've had all season," Zullo said.

"I think being from Sydney, being from the biggest city, being from the biggest club in the A-League, we felt that a lot of teams have almost kind of hated us all year.

"And it's been us up against everyone else so we're using that, channeling that, to put in a great strong performance this weekend."

Finishing 14 points clear at the top of the table, Sydney FC earned the weekend off and will play Victory on Saturday after a Besart Berisha bicycle secured his side a 2-1 win over Adelaide United.

While Zullo didn't see Berisha's heroics, he knows his side's record against Kevin Muscat's men and is very confident of making it eight straight wins against their fierce rivals.

"We're treating it like it's round 28 and not a finals match," he said.

"Didn't see the game yesterday, I saw the result.

"It wasn't really important to us who we were going to play.

"We don't really look at what they're doing. They haven't beaten us, so regardless of what they've done since December, we win every time we play against Melbourne Victory and that's something we're taking into the weekend."
