After a strong start to the season in the stands, Round 6 saw A-League crowds figures fall significantly with just one game cracking 10,000 fans.
As has often been the case, Melbourne Victory managed to pull in the most with a crowd of 19,556 - but even that can be considered somewhat disappointing considering the club's form and the stars in their side.
Elsewhere, the numbers were considerably worse with Wellington pulling in a season-low 4,829 against Perth.
Melbourne City would also hit a season low with the absence of Bruno Fornaroli doing them no favours as just 6,013 turned up at AAMI Park.
Despite sitting bottom, Central Coast Mariners pulled in the second biggest crowd of the weekend as 8,386 turned up at Gosford as Sydney FC found a way to walk away 2-1 winners.
Adelaide United kicked off the round with a modest 8,005 at Coopers Stadium - 1800 fewer than their average attendance last season.
In more encouraging news, Brisbane Roar have been a surprise standout in the stands so far this campaign as they average a crowd of 13,304 - 4,000 more than what they generally pulled in across the 2017/18 season.
More broadly however, early fan turnout must be a cause for concern as a new-look Football Federation Australia board look to make a call on expansion in the coming weeks.
