Thank you for joining our coverage, we hope you enjoyed the game. Until next time, goodbye!
Norwich play Bournemouth away from home next weekend, while Villa host Brighton, who beat Tottenham 3-0 earlier today.
There goes the full-time whistle! Norwich crumbled at home against their fellow newly-promoted side. Wesley grabbed a first-half brace and missed a penalty, before Grealish, Hourihane and Luiz all scored excellent goals to pile on the Canaries' misery. Drmic managed a late consolation after a terrible mix-up between Mings and Heaton, but it was far too little, too late. It finishes 5-1 to Aston Villa!
90' + 3' MISS! WHAT A MISS! Godfrey flicks on a Norwich corner and Amadou is unmarked in the six-yard box. Somehow, he gets under the ball and steers his header over the bar! How did he not score?!
90' + 1' Konsa is not at all happy with Buendia and remains on the ground following a challenge. He feels the Norwich winger stamped on him and the VAR is consulted, but no red card is given.
89' Villa don't look like they're quite finished yet, they're still pouring men forward in the hopes of scoring a sixth!
J. Drmic
87' GOAL! Drmic grabs a consolation for Norwich and it's so sloppy from Villa. McGinn dinks a free-kick backwards to Mings, who awkwardly hoofs it further backwards to Heaton. The goalkeeper rushes out to get rid of it, but can't get it clear and Drmic can simply roll the ball into an empty net! It's 5-1!
85' McGovern is nearly caught out as a corner ends up on target, but the keeper manages to push it over the bar.
J. Drmic
T. Pukki
84' Drmic replaces Pukki up front in Farke's final change.
83' Wesley might not have his hat-trick, but he can claim the assist for arguably the goal of the game. That was a really lovely hit.
Douglas Luiz
83' GOAL!!! WHAT A GOAL BY LUIZ! Villa are now 5-0 up and it comes from Norwich giving the ball away at the back again. Wesley finds Luiz on the left edge of the box and he curls a sublime effort right into the top corner! Great strike!
81' WIDE! Trezeguet now drags a shot wide from outside the box following Nakamba's header.
D. Srbeny
T. Cantwell
80' Cantwell makes way for Srbeny as Farke looks to grab a consolation in the closing stages of the game.
Douglas Luiz
C. Hourihane
78' Hourihane is replaced by Luiz now as Smith looks to see out the win with their clean sheet intact.
77' OVER! Godfrey swings wildly at a shot from outside the box that sails high and wide of the target. He snatched at that.
P. Roberts
M. Stiepermann
76' Farke replaces Stiepermann with Manchester City loanee Roberts for the remainder of the game.
E. Konsa
B. Engels
75' Engels is forced off for Konsa at the back following that incident.
72' Pukki gets into the box cleverly down the left after some quick interchanges, but he takes a heavy touch and ends up standing on Engels' ankle as the ball gets away from him.
F. Guilbert
Yellow Card
70' Yellow card Frédéric Guilbert
68' Villa put together a sweeping move involving Hourihane and McGinn with some nice passes, but Grealish's low cross into the box is a comfortable take for McGovern.
66' The Norwich players' heads have dropped since that fourth goal. They're very flat at the moment and need to lift themselves if they are to prevent the scoreline from becoming even more embarrassing.
A. El Ghazi
64' El Ghazi, who has recorded two assists today, is replaced out wide by Trezeguet.
64' WIDE! Aarons tries to go for the far corner with his weaker left foot, but can only steer it just wide of the corner.
C. Hourihane
Yellow Card
62' Hourihane hauls Aarons back to prevent a counter. The young right-back is incensed, and the Villa midfielder now has a yellow card to go with his goal.
M. Targett
61' Targett smiles wryly as he celebrates with Hourihane. His hard work made the opportunity on the edge of the area, but his team-mate took over and fired home a beauty!
C. Hourihane
61' GOAL!!! WHAT A HIT FROM HOURIHANE! Targett wins the ball high up the pitch and Hourihane takes it off his toes on the edge of the box before rifling an outstanding effort into the corner! It's 4-0 to Villa!
59' Villa are still on top and look the most likely side to score the next goal. Norwich jsut aren't at the races today.
57' WIDE! Grealish nearly replicates his goal from an almost identical position, receiving the ball from El Ghazi again before steering his shot wide of the far post from just inside the box!
55' Aarons is the latest player to try his luck, failing to hit the target as Lewis crossed to him on the other side of the box.
53' Assuming Villa see this result out, they will leapfrog Norwich, who will sink into the relegation zone. This performance will certainly worry Farke.
51' BLOCK! Buendia rifles a low effort at goal from just inside the box, but Mings is in the right place to deflect the ball over the bar! That shot had some sting in it!
A. El Ghazi
49' El Ghazi pulled wide as Wesley ran in the opposite direction to stretch the Norwich defence, and nobody came out to Grealish, who simply picked his spot.
J. Grealish
49' GOAL!! Grealish drives through the middle and Wesley's dummy run creates acres of space. The Englishman plays a one-two with El Ghazi before steering the return out of McGovern's reach and into the corner! It's 3-0 to Villa!
48' McLean gets the ball on the edge of the area, but leans back and blazes one into the stands. Not his finest effort.
46' Villa get the second half under way!
There have been plenty of shots from both sides so far, with a total of 28 recorded between the two teams. Farke will be concerned with how poorly his side have defended, though, and McGovern has been very up and down. At one point, the goalkeeper strangely tried to control a headed shot on his chest and being saved by the bar, but also pulling off a couple of solid stops to go with his penalty save.
There goes the half-time whistle! It's been a very open game thus far and Wesley has profitted from the chances that have come his way. Godfrey missed an El Ghazi cross, allowing the Brazilian to open the scoring, before he was left unmarked to convert from a low Hourihane delivery. He passed up on the chance for a first-half hat-trick, however, when his spot-kick was saved by McGovern. It's 2-0 to Villa at the break!
45' WIDE! Leitner combines with Cantwell before going across goal for the far corner, but can only fire just wide of the upright!
44' El Ghazi goes for goal from outside the area but it's blocked away. Wesley then fouls McLean before a counter can develop.
J. McGinn
Yellow Card
42' McGinn is out of control as he barges into Cantwell as the ball comes loose, picking up a yellow card.
39' MISS! Engels scraps in the box from the resulting corner but can only fire wide from close range!
Penalty Miss
38' It was a poor penalty from the Brazilian, who will have to wait for another opportunity to complete his hat-trick now. He will feel he could have done better with the rebound, too, but McGovern got himself in the way to deflect his curling effort over the top.
M. McGovern
Penalty Save
38' SAVED! The Brazilian's effort is neither particularly powerful nor right in bottom corner and McGovern makes the save after diving the right way! Wesley gets to the rebound first, but the keeper deflects it over the bar!
37' PENALTY! Hourihane gets into the box down the left and McLean recklessly bundles him over. It's a clear penalty and Wesley steps up for his hat-trick.
36' Cantwell is found on the edge of the area and he tries to steer a shot on goal first-time, but he doesn't catch it with any conviction and can only sweep it into the arms of Heaton.
34' Amadou makes a real hash of his clearance and awkwardly turns the ball over his own bar for a corner. Norwich are really struggling defensively at the moment.
T. Pukki
Yellow Card
32' Pukki lets his frsutration get the better of him as he fouls Grealish and picks up a yellow card.
31' Hourihane now has been involved in six goals in his last five league matches against Norwich City for Aston Villa (three goals, three assists).
C. Hourihane
30' Hourihane was played into space down the left, but his life was made easier as Wesley was left completely unmarked in the box, and the midfielder found him well at the front post.
30' GOAL!! Wesley makes it 2-0 to Villa! It's so easy for the visitors as they carve Norwich open down the left before a simple, low cross from Hourihane finds Wesley, who can convert coolly from close range!
28' SAVE! Buendia sees a firm strike blocked before Lewis smashes a deflected follow-up towards the bottom-right corner that Heaton dives across well to keep out!
27' WIDE! McGinn drives into the box, cuts back onto his left foot and curls a low effort just wide of the bottom corner!
25' CROSSBAR! Wesley heads the corner at goal and McGovern inexplicably chests the ball, allowing El Ghazi to go for goal, but he can only nod off the bar from close range!
24' SAVE! El Ghazi curls a lovely effort towards the top-right corner but McGovern dives across well to keep it out! Great stop by the veteran keeper!
23' Both midfields are being bypassed far too easily off the ball and the two back-lines are being left exposed.
21' SAVE! Grealish hits an effort from outside the box that McGovern keeps out low in the corner. Another speculative one.
20' Both sides are trading blows at the moment, although neither are employing the most patient approach in the final third, taking shots whemever an opening presents itself.
18' WIDE! Cantwell's tame effort hits Stiepermann and breaks for Leitner, who lashes at goal, but it deflects wide past a sprawling Heaton!
16' CHANCE! Cantwell wins a free-kick after a lovely run and it's curled into the box. Leitner is in space but the ball deflects awkwardly off him and Heaton claims!
A. El Ghazi
14' El Ghazi put plenty of spin and curl on the cross, making it difficult for Norwich to defend.
14' GOAL!! Wesley puts Villa 1-0 up! El Ghazi swings a cross in that Godfrey misjudges the flight of, allowing Wesley to take the ball on his chest, swivel and fire past McGovern!
12' SHOT! Grealish has a pop from outside the box but McGovern makes a comfortable stop. A fair few speculative, long-range efforts so far.
10' OVER! Wesley rises highest to meet a right-wing cross, but he's always reaching for it and can only nod over the bar.
9' OVER! Norwich put together a lovely, flowing move, and Stiepermann is there again to sweep an effort at goal, but he leans back and it's over the bar!
8' SHOTS! Stiepermann sees a shot deflect into the arms of Heaton, before another effort from just inside the box is blocked away!
6' BLOCK! El Ghazi has a pop at goal as he gets the ball on the right, but it's charged down inside the box.
5' It's been an open start so far, with neither side able to seize control of proceedings as yet.
3' WIDE! McGinn cuts onto his left from the right and curls one low towards the bottom corner, but can only place it wide!
2' SHOT! Lewis can't get any distance on hs headed clearance and El Ghazi has an opportunity to shoot, but it's tame and from a tight angle, allowing McGovern to hold on.
1' We're off at Carrow Road!

Meanwhile, Villa have lost their last 10 away games in the Premier League - their joint-longest run of away defeats in top-flight history.

Dean Smith's Aston Villa are unchanged from their 2-2 draw with Burnley as Mings and Targett overcome their respective injury problems to start. Henri Lansbury, Jonathan Kodjia and James Chester all miss out, however.
