Commentary

That's all from the Ciudad de Valencia today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
Levante next face a potentially make-or-break clash with Granada in a week's time, but must also face Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Real Madrid in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, runners-up spot remains the realistic target for Barcelona, who will next be in Europa League action; reconvening with Frankfurt in midweek.
A relentless second half saw the teams barely pause for breath, as Barcelona escape a game where they were constantly under threat - conceding three penalties - with a seventh straight LaLiga victory. Certainly, Xavi's substitutes made a remarkable impact, as Gavi, Pedri and Luuk De Jong all made telling contributions off the bench, dashing Levante's hopes of a vital win. Reclaiming second place in the table, the Blaugrana remain unbeaten in the top flight since December and continue their recent revival.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: LEVANTE 2-3 BARCELONA
90' + 5' As Ter Stegen gathers the ball low down in his area, the final chance of another Levante leveller has surely gone.
Jordi Alba
Assist
90' + 2' Staying calm in the final third, Alba picks out De Jong's sprint to the near post with a precision cross.
L. de Jong
Goal
90' + 2' BARCELONA BACK IN FRONT! Another twist in the tale sees substitute Luuk de Jong rewarded for a bold run to the near post, as he powers a header past Cardenas from Alba's outswinging cross. Incredibly, the Catalans have surely stolen all three points: it's 3-2!
Marc Pubill
Morales
90' For an excellent performance, Morales receives a warm round of applause from the home fans, as Pubill comes on for the final stages.
88' SUPER SAVE! With Barcelona looking poised to snatch the points, Cardenas makes a crucial save low down to deny Gavi from close range. The ball is then scrambled clear - this match can still go either way!
R. Araujo
Yellow Card
87' Araujo is booked late on, and will miss Barcelona's next match as a result.
86' Levante come again, as Garcia concedes a corner, and Cantero's header from the centre of the box following the set-piece flies over the crossbar.
Adama Traoré
O. Dembélé
84' Dembele is also replaced; Traore comes on to run the right flank.
L. de Jong
P. Aubameyang
84' Barcelona's first goalscorer Aubameyang is taken off, and Luuk de Jong makes his return from illness up front.
Melero
Penalty Goal
83' LEVANTE LEVEL! Once again, Morales opts against taking another spot-kick, but Melero makes no mistake - thumping the ball confidently past Ter Stegen and into the bottom-left corner of the net! With a few minutes to go, it's now 2-2!
82' A THIRD PENALTY FOR LEVANTE! Remarkably, when Gomez's driving run into the area from the left unsettles the Barcelona defence, Lenglet overreaches and clips the Levante forward. Again, the referee points to the spot!
C. Lenglet
Dani Alves
80' After a difficult day at the office, Alves is withdrawn by Xavi, and Lenglet replaces him at right-back.
80' After Aubameyang pulls Busquets' raking pass down and diverts it towards Pedri, the latter strikes wide of the goal. However, a goal would not have stood in any case, as an offside is indicated.
78' Barcelona have been clinical during this second half, as since their substitutes came on they have scored with two of their three shots on target.
Cantero
Rúben Vezo
76' Vezo also comes off for the home side, and Cantero is brought on.
E. Bardhi
N. Radoja
76' Lisci makes another double change. First, Radoja is taken off, to be replaced by the enigmatic Bardhi.
74' Gomez feeds Son on the left side of the area, but the latter's low strike towards the far post is comfortably saved by Ter Stegen down to his left.
72' Gavi is involved again, as his shot from outside the box is blocked by a covering Levante defender.
69' Morales became the first Levante player to reach 10 goals in four different LaLiga seasons this century by converting his penalty, but surely he will regret not taking the second spot-kick? That appears to be the pivotal decision in this match - everything has changed since.
67' As Barcelona continue to press on relentlessly, they earn a free-kick just outside the box, but Torres fires his attempt well over the bar.
Melero
Campaña
65' Levante also replace Campana with Melero, as they look to recover their equilibrium.
Dani Gómez
Roger Martí
65' After his penalty miss, a dejected Marti is replaced by Gomez up front.
Gavi
Assist
63' Making an immediate impact from the bench, Gavi picks out Pedri in the box for his teenage team-mate to score.
Pedri
Goal
63' PEDRI PUTS BARCELONA IN FRONT! The young substitutes combine, as Pedri steers a shot from near the penalty spot into the bottom-left corner following Gavi's ball into the box. All of a sudden, the visitors lead 2-1!
61' Barcelona are on top now, as Aubameyang goes close with another header from the centre of the box, but misses to the right.
O. Dembélé
Assist
59' Adding another assist to his growing collection, Dembele creates the equalising goal with his precision cross from the right - perfectly picking out Aubameyang at the back post.
P. Aubameyang
Goal
59' BARCELONA LEVEL! Within minutes of almost going two goals behind, the Blaugrana equalise, as Aubameyang powers a header into the back of the net from Dembele's right-wing cross. Now it's 1-1, and the momentum has surely shifted!
Gavi
F. de Jong
56' Another midfield swap sees Frenkie De Jong make way for Gavi.
Pedri
Nico González
56' Xavi has seen enough! Gonzalez is hauled off, and Pedri is thrown on to turn the game around in midfield.
Roger Martí
Penalty Save
56' MISS! Morales declines to follow up his first penalty, and Marti bravely steps up this time. However, he strikes his attempt straight at Ter Stegen in the Barcelona goal!
54' ANOTHER PENALTY FOR LEVANTE! Amazingly, the home side have spot-kick number two within a matter of minutes, as Garcia blocks a goalbound header with his raised arm. There is no dispute this time, and Levante have a great chance to extend their lead!
Morales
Penalty Goal
52' LEVANTE LEAD! Morales sends Ter Stegen the wrong way with a cool penalty kick into the bottom-right corner, and the hosts have a merited advantage: It's 1-0 to Levante!
52' The penalty stands! Morales will step up to take it.
51' Alves hopes for a reprieve, as the VAR assesses whether there are grounds to overturn the referee's decision to award a penalty against him.
50' PENALTY FOR LEVANTE! Caught on the blind side by Son, who charges into the box from the left flank, Alves makes minimal contact with the Levente wing-back and brings him down. The referee points straight to the spot!
49' SHARP SAVE! Reacting quickly, Cardenas makes a save in the top corner, and at close range from a powerful Torres header following Dembele's cross.
48' The home side continue their pressure high up the field on Barcelona, who are still struggling to find any rhythm since the interval.
46' Levante get us back under way for the second half!
Though undefeated in their last three games at the Ciutat de Valencia, Levante actually have the third-worst home record in La Liga this season - picking up just 16 points from their 15 matches before today's game. In other circumstances, they might be pleased to take a point against Barcelona, but will Lisci's men push for a winner to improve their slim survival prospects?
Despite the lack of a breakthrough for either side, both will probably be content enough with the half-time scoreline, as Levante are very much in the game and remain on level terms with a Barcelona side who must be grateful to retain parity. The intensity and industry of Los Granotas has kept the visitors' front three isolated and relatively quiet, while Morales nearly gave the La Liga strugglers a deserved lead with his thrusting run, which required Garcia to clear off the line.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: LEVANTE 0-0 BARCELONA
44' As Barcelona break, Dembele transfers the ball to Frenkie De Jong just outside the area, but the Dutch midfielder again skies his shot over the crossbar and into the stands. It looks like we are set to end this half goalless.
42' With a ball from midfield, Campana picks out Radoja, who skews his shot wide under pressure from two grey Barcelona shirts.
41' Taking the initiative, Torres sprints in from the touchline and stands up Miramon on the left side of the area before shooting towards goal, but Cardenas is able to make a routine save.
38' Though Pier concedes a corner, Barcelona are not able to create anything from the set-piece situation - they have been lacking a cutting edge in the final third so far today.
36' Still without conceding a goal today - though only just - Barcelona not only have won their last six La Liga matches, they have kept a clean sheet in each of the last three. The Blaugrana have not won four straight games in the top flight without conceding since 2018.
34' After a brief pause in proceedings, Morales is able to pick himself and wince his way back onto the pitch. How long he will last remains questionable, though.
32' Without contact from an opposition player, Morales slumps to the ground clutching his lower back, having twisted to reach the ball. Will he be able to continue? It has been a superb start from the Levante skipper.
30' Araujo is penalised for bringing down the irrepressible Morales on Levante's left wing, and he has his hands full today, given Alves' defensive deficiencies.
28' Again, Levante pursue an opener with real intent, as Araujo just manages to deny Marti in the nick of time at the back post. The hosts have got the bit between their teeth here!
26' OFF THE LINE! Levante break quickly, and Morales embarks on an incredible slalom run throught the Barcelona defence - bursting into the area and poking a shot towards the bottom corner. Ter Stegen makes a crucial save, though, which deflects the ball upwards before Garcia manages to scramble back and hack the ball clear off the line!
25' Living up to their usual standards, Barcelona have had a 68 per cent share of possession so far; with a 91 per cent passing accuracy rate too.
23' Under pressure, Ter Stegen comes out to the edge of his area to confidently claim a diagonal long ball from the right.
21' SAVE! Cardenas has to get down sharply to repel a powerful low shot by Torres from the right side of the area, following an excellent long ball from deep by Ter Stegen.
20' Amid a raucous atmosphere in Valencia, the home side are dropping back a little after their strong start, as Barcelona work their way into control of the match.
18' After a pause in the action for Alves to be assessed, in which Xavi animatedly addresses some of his players, the Brazilian full-back is eventually able to limp back into the fray.
16' Stretching to reach a ball from deep by Frenkie De Jong, Alves pulls the ball down into his path, but as he attempts to thread a low pass into the area, turns his ankle and is left down on the turf in some pain.
14' Busquets stands an inviting cross up to the back post from just outside the box, but Postigo manages to clear Levante's lines with a strong header.
12' As expected, Barcelona are controlling possession for the most part, but their hosts have posed a definite threat on the counter. Xavi certainly appears agitated on the touchline.
Campaña
Yellow Card
11' With a slightly mistimed sliding challenge in midfield, Campana incurs the first yellow card of the game for bringing down Busquets in central midfield.
8' Gonzalez gives the ball away in midfield, and Garcia is forced into a clearance just inside the box, as Levante push on again in search of an opening goal.
6' Alves is caught out again, but Araujo covers for his defensive colleague when Morales attempts to break into the area on the left hand side; clearing calmly to safety.
4' SAVE! Ter Stegen is called upon to make a stop at his near post, as Campana takes a touch and turns, unmarked on the edge of the box, before shooting for the bottom corner.
2' Barcelona strike back straight away, as after nearly conceding an early goal, the visitors stream forward and Frenkie de Jong is off target with a curling shot from outside the area.
1' CLOSE! Within seconds of the start, Morales steers a shot just wide of Ter Stegen's left-hand post, after capitalising on a square pass from Alves in midfield.
The players are now out on the pitch, with kick-off now just moments away!
A rare rest for teenage star Pedri is the headline news from Barcelona's team selection, and the 19-year-old will start today's game on the bench. Nico replaces him in central midfield, as Alves, Dembele and Frenkie De Jong all return to Xavi's first XI. While Ansu Fati, Sergino Dest, Sergi Roberto and Memphis Depay are joined by Gerard Pique on the sidelines due to injury, Luuk de Jong is back in the squad after recovering from COVID-19.
Levante are expected to line up in a 5-3-2 formation today, with Radoja, Pepelu and Campana manning the midfield and in-form captain Morales starting up front. The home side's lengthy injury list features experienced players including Shkodran Mustafi, Martin Caceres and Oscar Duarte, but Soldado is considered fit enough to begin on the bench.
SUBS: Neto, Adama Traore, Martin Braithwaite, Oscar Mingueza, Riqui Puig, Clement Lenglet, Gavi, Pedri, Lazar Carevic, Luuk de Jong.

Seeking seven La Liga wins in a row, Barcelona are third in the table, 12 points behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid. Following victories over Real Madrid and Sevilla in their last two league matches, a 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final last Thursday also kept the Catalan giants in the hunt for silverware this season. In the reverse fixture back in September, the Blaugrana cruised to a 3-0 victory over today's opponents at Camp Nou.
Before kick-off today, Levante occupy 19th position in the La Liga standings, sitting seven points from safety with eight games remaining to preserve their top-flight status. Aiming to secure the club's sixth straight season at the elite level, Alessio Lisci's side secured a vital 2-0 victory over local rivals Villarreal last time out, with Jose Luis Morales' brace keeping them in contention for a great escape.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's La Liga encounter between Levante and Barcelona at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia!
