Commentary

Hodgson secured his Palace side Premier League safety a long time ago and after today's performance he will take a lot of positives going into next season. Meanwhile, Mourinho's Tottenham have European football to look forward to!
Mourinho and his backroom staff are celebrating wildly with each other. They will know that although their team's performance was far from convincing they have battled away for an important point. Aside from Kane's lovely finish Tottenham offered very little throughout the match and Palace, through the creativity of Ayew, Schlupp, and Zaha, were the better side for long portions of that game.
90' + 3' FULL TIME: CRYSTAL PALACE 1-1 TOTTENHAM
D. Sánchez
Lucas Moura
90' + 3' Lucas comes off for Sanchez.
90' + 2' Big chance! Palace bend a free-kick into the box and it falls kindly to Dann but his header is low and wide.
E. Dier
Yellow Card
90' + 1' Yellow Card Eric Dier
88' More good play from Ayew as he skips past a man! He's been brilliant today.
87' Palace have had 12 shots compared to seven from Tottenham. They've given it a proper go today.
L. Milivojević
J. Schlupp
85' The goalscorer Schlupp comes off for Milivojevic.
82' Can either side find a winner? Zaha has a go at the Tottenham defender but is completely closed down by three of them.
81' Ayew is down as he appears to have his ankle caught unintentionally by Dier coming in for a header. After a little bit of attention from the doctor he is up on his feet.
O. Skipp
M. Sissoko
79' Sissoko is replaced by the youngster Skipp.
D. Alli
Son Heung-Min
79' Son is off for Alli.
76' Sissoko appears to be in some pain as he clutches his hamstring.
C. Kouyaté
Yellow Card
75' Kouyaté is beaten for pace by Sissoko as he slides in late to pick up a yellow card.
74' The rain is really hammering down in south London as Mourinho takes shelter in his dugout.
72' Kane, who has been very quiet since his goal, does well to slide the ball through Dann's legs but he is then just beaten to the ball by Guaita.
71' Beautiful play from Zaha as he spins his man and then switches the play before the attack fades away.
J. Riedewald
J. McArthur
70' McArthur is off for Riedewald. He's played well today.
67' A Palace free-kick is well defended by Tottenham but they then lose possession wastefully. This is anyone's game!
65' Bergwijn has just brought down Zaha 30 yards out from goal. Good position for a Palace free-kick.
63' Palace don't look ready to settle for a point as they continue to drive forward into the Tottenham half.
62' McCarthy has made six tackles so far today and has been all over the pitch.
T. Alderweireld
Yellow Card
61' Alderweireld bundles down Ayew on the halfway line and picks up a yellow.
60' What a goal that would have been! The ball is crossed to Lucas on the right of the box and he unleashes a first-time volley that just dips past the post.
S. Bergwijn
G. Lo Celso
60' Lo Celso is off for Bergwijn.
56' Zaha does really well to slip in Mitchell on the left and his cross to Schlupp is good but the winger can't get his second goal as he gets his feet in a muddle.
54' It's game on now and Tottenham immediately have a bit more urgency to their play. Lucas is making some useful forward runs in behind.
J. Ayew
Assist
53' During the melee Ayew managed to work the ball to Schlupp inside the box although I'm not sure that was his intention. It looked like he was shooting but he won't care!
J. Schlupp
Goal
53' Goal! It's 1-1! Palace go long with the corner and the ball is knocked back in. It's a little scrappy but Schlupp finds himself in space and hammers a sweet finish into the roof of the net.
51' Palace win a corner.
50' Winks has completed 94% of his passes today. A tidy performance from the central midfielder.
T. Mitchell
Yellow Card
49' This time Lucas manages to spin Mitchell who gives him a little tug and it's a yellow card.
47' Big chance! Tottenham whip in a corner which Alderweireld rises to meet, but his glancing header is too high. He probably should have done better!
47' Palace's young defender Mitchell has been given a real show of faith by his manager in recent weeks and he's coping well as he marshals Lucas out of play.
46' We're back under way at Selhurst Park!
1' Mourinho and his backroom staff have embraced each other wildly, presumably celebrating the Europa League football they think this result has scored as it stands. Assuming results stay the same way he will be very happy to have battled through today's fixture to get that much needed point. In truth, his side were outplayed by Palace by long portions of the game and their performance was far from convincing. Hodgson on the other hand can be very proud of his side's energetic and committed performance.
As it stands though, Tottenham could leapfrog Wolves into sixth place in the league table and Mourinho will be hungrily eyeing up that Europa League place.
Tottenham lead courtesy of Kane's well taken finish but, since that moment of class, Mourinho's side have appeared happy to play more cautiously and soak up pressure. Palace, meanwhile, have played with a positive intent but are in desperate need of some genuine chances in the final third if they want to come back into this game.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: CRYSTAL PALACE 0-1 TOTTENHAM
44' Kouyate, who has spent most of his career in midfield, has looked assured in the heart of Palace's defence so far.
42' Kane does really well to shrug off two defenders and hold up the ball before recycling. Good old fashioned centre-forward play there.
41' When Tottenham get on the ball Palace immediately move into a compact defensive shape. Despite being behind, Hodgson will be satisfied with the way his team are performing.
40' Kane is giving the referee a real earful, he's not happy about something. Was it to do with a tussle between Zaha and Sissoko a couple moments ago?
38' Ayew seems to be dropping slightly deeper for Palace now and that is helping them as he is able to connect play and create space for Zaha and Townsend.
36' Palace have enjoyed 54% of the possession so far. Their defenders are looking increasingly comfortable on the ball.
35' Schlupp is very lucky not to pick up a card as he comes in late and clears out Aurier.
34' Since their goal Tottenham haven't had much of a threat and Palace are really growing into this game. Their players are starting to play in tighter spaces to create room to cross the ball in.
32' A quality cross in from Schlupp finds Ward who has taken a risk and stayed up. His header is tame though.
30' Although Palace's forwards look good when they get on the ball they are really isolated from their midfielders who are sending a lot of hopeful balls down the channel.
28' Ayew is a very skilful player. He rolls the ball a couple times before standing up Alderweireld to win a foul.
26' Big chance! Palace have a corner which is cleared but they then patiently work the ball before Schlupp hits it first time from the edge of the box. It's a good connection but Lloris doesn't have to move.
25' The players resume and Schlupp quickly wins a corner.
24' The players pause for a drinks break.
23' Harry Kane has now scored 34 goals for club and country this season. Not a bad return for a player who is supposedly searching for form.
21' Tottenham counter quickly to get the ball down the other end after a corner but Kane just can't quite get on the end of the final cross.
20' An incredible battle between Aurier and Zaha eventually leads to a Palace corner as Aurier slides in.
19' There have been some sparkly moments from Lucas so far and he does really well to find some space and square a ball to Son whose shot is then well blocked.
18' A poor first touch from Townsend sees Palace lose possession cheaply and Tottenham get a throw-in.
J. McCarthy
Yellow Card
17' It's a straightforward yellow for McCarthy who hauls his man down after losing the ball cheaply.
16' The Tottenham players look like they've been instructed to press hard today as Son and Kane work well together to pressure McCarthy.
15' It's a really well worked Palace corner but McArthur's header is too gentle to trouble Lloris.
G. Lo Celso
Assist
13' Lo Celso did really well to draw some defenders in before squeezing a clever ball through the box for Kane to pounce on.
H. Kane
Goal
13' Goal! 1-0 Tottenham! It's a typical Harry Kane finish as he takes one touch inside past the defender before arrowing it into the bottom corner.
10' Davies has been one of Tottenham's best players so far and is constantly looking to get forward on the left flank.
9' The majority of the football has been played in the Palace half in this opening spell but that won't trouble Roy Hodgson. His forwards have shown they are ready to break quickly.
7' Ayew goes on a fantastic run through the heart of the Tottenham midfield but the attack then fizzles out. He showed beautiful balance and skill there.
5' Son and McArthur are both scrapping for the ball in midfield before McArthur eventually gives away the foul. Both sides look up for it!
4' It's a bright run down the right from Lucas and his cross then falls to Davies who hammers a powerful one straight at Guaita.
3' Zaha collects the ball just inside his own half but is immediately swarmed by Tottenham players and he then gives away a free-kick. Mourinho will want him watched closely this afternoon.
2' After a couple of quick tussles Tottenham are settling into the game with some early possession.
1' Tottenham lead courtesy of Kane's well taken finish. Aside from that moment of class though Tottenham have seemed happy to play more cautiously and soak up pressure. Palace have got forward, trying to play positively, but ultimately have had minimal chances and they will need to improve to threaten Tottenham in the second half.
1' And we're underway!
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick-off is just moments away!
Tottenham make just one change to the side that beat Leicester City 3-0 with Eric Dier replacing Davinson Sanchez at centre-back, while the fit-again Dele Alli returns among the substitutes. Palace also make just one alteration with Cheikhou Kouyate starting in an unfamiliar centre-back role as the injured Mamadou Sakho misses out. Captain Luka Milivojevic returns to the bench.
TOTTENHAM SUBS: Dele Alli, Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez, Oliver Skipp, Ryan Sessegnon, Steven Bergwijn, Paulo Gazzaniga, Jan Vertonghen, Erik Lamela
TOTTENHAM (4-2-3-1): Hugo Lloris, Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier, Ben Davies; Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko; Lucas Moura, Giovani Lo Celso, Son Heung-Min; Harry Kane
CRYSYAL PALACE SUBS: Martin Kelly, Sam Woods, Nya Kirby, Jairo Riedewald, Luka Milivojevic, Brandon Pierrick Keutcha, John-Kymani Gordon, Wayne Hennessey, Max Meyer
CRYSTAL PALACE (4-4-2): Vicente Guaita; Joel Ward, Scott Dann, Cheikhou Kouyate, Tyrick Mitchell; Andros Townsend, James McArthur, James McCarthy, Jeffrey Schlupp; Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha
For Palace, four straight wins either side of the league's coronavirus-enforced break offered very brief hope of a challenge for European football. Unfortunately for the Eagles, seven straight defeats mean this season has somewhat petered out and no doubt left Roy Hodgson breathing a sigh of relief that his side already had ample points on the board. Palace could leap a place to 13th with a win and cannot finish any lower than their current standing of 14th. Team news coming up shortly.
Spurs are aiming to secure the three points that could see them finish in sixth and guarantee a Europa League berth, with Wolves - a point and a place above - facing off against Chelsea. Seventh may still be enough for Tottenham to feature in Europe next term if Chelsea beat Arsenal in the FA Cup final.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this Premier League finale between Crystal Palace and Tottenham at Selhurst Park!
