The Indian Super League (ISL) is the top-tier football league in India which came into inception in 2014.
It is a franchise-based football competition where there are currently 11 teams participating. These franchises are mostly owned by Indian business conglomerates.
From Bollywood celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan to Indian cricket star Virat Kohli, there are a few popular faces who are co-owners in a few franchises.

The consortium of Sanjeev Goenka and Utsav Parekh are the majority shareholders of ATK Mohun Bagan FC. Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan Athletic Club holds 20 per cent of the entity known as ATK Mohun Bagan Pvt. Ltd.

East Bengal and Emami Group formally launched their joint venture 'Emami East Bengal' on August 2 with Emami Group holding 77 per cent share and East Bengal holding the remaining 23 per cent in the newly formed company, Emami East Bengal FC Pvt. Ltd.

Jamshedpur FC is completely owned by Tata Steel, a sister company of the Tata Group.
Kerala Blasters is owned by Magnum Sports Private Limited. Nikhil Bhardwaj is the chairman of the company and a whole-time director. There are other co-owners as well including Nimmagadda Prasad, Indian film stars, Chiranjeevi and Allu Arvind.

The City Football Group (CFG) has 65 per cent stake in the club with Ranbir Kapoor (18 per cent) and Bimal Parekh (17 per cent) hold the remaining shares.
