Ulinzi Stars midfielder Kelvin Amwayi has been ruled out for two weeks with an injury.
Amwayi picked a muscle strain in training that will keep him out of action for at least two weeks, starting with the match against Chemelil Sugar this weekend.
Ulinzi Stars team Doctor John Imboywa will have to work round the clock to see that Amwayi returns in time before the Soldiers take on Gor Mahia.
“Amwayi has a strain in the quadriceps and we realized he was playing with some pain. It may be bad for him in the long run so the measure we took was to prescribe physio treatment which should take about two weeks,”
Meanwhile, Imboywa is closely monitoring Ulinzi Stars lead striker Masita Masuta who limped off against Nakumatt.
Masuta collided with Lucas Indeche and had to be withdrawn in the 22nd minute.
“Masuta trained with the rest but he is under watch. He picked a thigh injury in the collision and just like the others; we don’t take chances with such. As the week progresses we will have a report on him,” he added.
The clash against Chemelil Sugar at Afraha Stadium presents Dunstan Nyaudo with a chance to pick a first his first home victory in April after a loss and a draw in the last two games.
