Felix Anyansi has challenged Enyimba players to show character as they look to begin their Caf Confederation group phase campaign on a winning note.
The Aba giants subdued Bidvest Wits in the play-off round to make the group stage where they were zoned in Group C.
As they gun for the competition’s title, they take on Djoliba at the UJ Esuene Stadium, and the club boss wants the players to play to the best of their ability.
“What we do [on Sunday] will elevate Nigerian football,” said Anyansi while addressing the players.
“Even if you're not a Nigerian, you can represent your country well. Whatever country you're from, people will watch you fly your flag when you get onto the pitch.
“The real thing has just begun. All the preparation from when the season started and all the matches that brought us to this level.
“We talked about the group stage, and we are finally here. [Today], the journey will start. This is the point of examination, and it doesn't matter what I say.
“In as much as the coaches will be on the sideline to correct a few things, you'll be on your own in there. It will be up to you to show your character.”
