TEAM NEWS: Bailly returns for Man Utd as Rooney misses out

The Ivory Coast international is back after the Africa Cup of Nations duty, but illness has ruled out the England captain at Leicester

Manchester United have recalled defender Eric Bailly as they take on Premier League champions Leicester City.

Bailly replaces the injured Phil Jones at the heart of the United defence while club captain Wayne Rooney is absent from the 18-man squad due to illness.

There is still no place in the starting XI for Anthony Martial, with Marcus Rashford starting on the left alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata. Elswehere, Chris Smalling starts at centre-back with Marcos Rojo shifting to the left-back slot in place of Daley Blind.

For champions Leicester there is no Islam Slimani, with Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki leading the line.

Leicester: Schmeichel, Drinkwater, Morgan, Huth, Musa, Vardy, Simpson, Okazaki, Ndidi, Mahrez, Fuchs. Subs: Chilwell, King, Albrighton, Kaputska, Zieler, Gray, Benalouane.

Man Utd: De Gea, Bailly, Rojo, Pogba, Mata, Ibrahimovic, Smalling, Rashford, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Valencia. Subs: Martial, Lingard, Carrick, Blind, Young, Romero, Fellaini.
