The winger had found himself in an ugly spat with his now former club, Sundowns.
The Pretoria-based club has now announced the release of one of their most precious assets.
In a statement on the club’s website, the Caf Champions League champions stated their happiness at the completion of the 24-year-old’s move to Montpellier.
“The President of Mamelodi Sundowns, Mr Patrice Motsepe gave us clear instructions to do everything possible to help Keagan Dolly realize his dream of playing in Europe,” Sundowns CEO Sizwe Nzimande said.
“I often had to ignore the false and irresponsible statements by Keagan’s agent, Paul Mitchell which would have frustrated the transfer. The President is very proud of Keagan and wishes him everything of the very best.”
The Westbury-born playmaker has signed for the former French league champions on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Dolly will be expected to hit the ground running as La Paillade sit in 14th place and suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat to French giants Marseille on Friday night.
