Sofapaka finished the Kenyan Premier League in the fifth position and went on to lose in the Shield Cup final against Kariobangi Sharks.

The 2009 league champions have set their eyes on the 2018/19 trophy, but will have to make a few changes according to coach John Baraza. The tactician says some departments need to be improved for a better output consistently.

“I cannot say we had a good season because we did not manage to realize our objectives. We wanted to get at least one trophy last season but it did not happen, so we will have to asses and review the season and make amends. It is the only way to improve.

“We will sign a goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and an attacker to ensure every department has been strengthened. We will have a meeting to discuss the same before reaching a solid conclusion,” Baraza told Goal.

The new season begins on December 8, this year.
