Simba fans confident of Dar es Salaam derby win

Days are numbered before the latest showdown between the two most influential teams in Tanzania, Simba and Yanga take on each other on Sunday in the eagerly awaited Premier League clash.

Simba who are the league leaders with 59 points, 11 ahead of their arch rivals Yanga will be hoping to win in order to keep their hopes of winning the Premier League title this season alive, while Yanga will be trying protect their slipping crown.

Speaking to Goal, Saidi Muchacho who is a long time Simba fan believes that they will win the game due to the presence of better players in their squad compared to their opponenets.

Muchacho said that, the Premier League’s top scorer Emmanuel Okwi and John Bocco will tear Yanga apart during the match.

“We are going to beat Yanga because we have a very good squad compared to them, Okwi and Bocco will combine well to grab three points for us,” said Muchacho.

In the reverse fixture back in October the two teams played a 1-1 draw, where Shiza Kichuya scored for Simba while Obrey Chirwa equalized for Yanga.

Simba were under Joseph Omog who was sacked in December while Yanga were under George Lwandimina. Ahead of this match, Simba will be with Pierre Lechantre while will be under Yanga under caretaker coaches Noel Mwandila and Shadrack Nsajigwa after taking over since Lwandamina's departure early this month.
