Senegal forward Moussa Sow has announced his retirement from international football after failing to make an appearance at the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
According to local reports, the attacker called time on his international career in order to focus on club commitments.
Sow made his debut for the Teranga Lions against Congo in August 2009 and scored his first goal in their 4–0 defeat of the Democratic Republic of Congo in September 2010.
In an international career that spanned nine years, the France-born player represented the west African country at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments [2012, 2015 and 2017] and at the 2018 World Cup – the country’s second appearance on the world stage.
At club level, Sow spent the second half of last season on loan at Bursaspor from UAE outfit Shabab Al Ahli, where he scored four goals in the Turkish top-flight last season.
