Sam Morsy leads Wigan Athletic past Hull City

Sam Morsy was on the scoresheet in Wigan Athletic's 2-1 victory over Hull City in Tuesday’s English Championship encounter.

The midfielder struck a low right-footed shot into the bottom left corner in the 21st minute after benefitting from Will Grigg’s assist to register his first goal of the season.

Josh Windass increased the lead in the 37th minute, heading home Lee Evans’ cross but Nigel Adkins’ men launched an attempted fight back through Jarrod Bowen six minutes later.

The 27-year-old featured for the entire duration of the game to help Paul Cook’s men nick their fourth win this term.

With the victory, Wigan are seventh in the league standings with 13 points from eight games.

Morsy will hope to continue with the form when they play host to Bristol City in their next outings on Friday.
