Ruvu Shooting FC have apologized for the incident which involved their defender Mau Bofu who elbowed Simba striker Emmanuel Okwi during their game on Sunday at the Uhuru stadium.
Simba won the match 3-0 thanks to a John Bocco brace twice a Mzamiru Yassin strike.
Bofu was sent off a few minutes before half time by referee Hans Mabene from Tanga after elbowing Simba striker Ugandan Emmanuel Okwi.
The club has now released an official statement through their Communication Officer, Masau Bwire, and in the report Ruvu have spoken of their regret on the incident and on behalf of their player they apologize to Okwi, Simba and all football fans around the country.
“That incident was not what we aim for as a football team, we fully regret what happened that involved our player and we have to apologize to Okwi, Simba and all football fans around the country" Bwire said.
Okwi was elbowed by Ruvu Shooting defender Mau Bofu during the match requiring immediate treatment and failed to finish the match with Laudit Mavugo replacing him.
