Coetzee has entered the final three months of his contract with Ajax, and there's still no indication of whether or not he will be offered a new deal

Rivaldo Coetzee is one of South Africa’s brightest talents and since making his Bafana Bafana debut at the tender age of 17, the defender has never looked back.

His contract with Ajax Cape Town is set to expire at the end of the season, and hasn't been offered a new deal.

Consequently, Coetzee’s future is hanging in the balance, and it is unclear where he will be plying his trade in the new season.

He has caught the attention of some of South Africa’s biggest clubs, including Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs, while also been linked with a number of European clubs.

A move to Europe is believed to be the youngster’s preferred destination and it was reported during the January transfer window that there was interest from a club in France.

Although talk of a move away from Ikamva has quietene of late, it seems unlikely that Coetzee will remain at the Urban Warriors beyond the 2016/2017 PSL season.

Coetzee has not had the best of seasons of late. Following his exploits at the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio, the defender has had to deal with an injury-ridden campaign.

Most recently, he missed Ajax’s Nedbank Cup match against KwaDukuza United.

Nonetheless, he returned to action on Friday night but could do little as Ajax managed a point at home after a thrilling 2-2 draw against Free State Stars.
