Things aren’t looking good for Rafinha Alcantara, who looks set to leave Barcelona in the coming transfer window. Injuries have hindered his progress at the Catalan club, and the recent signing of Philippe Coutinho has further worsened his chances of playing.
He will leave the club initially on loan, according to an Italian report, with the most likely destination being Luciano Spalletti’s Inter Milan who sit 3rd place in the Serie A. However, a future fee of 20 million Euros may be included in the deal as his chances of playing look slim even in the long-term. Should he leave, he will follow his brother Thiago Alcantara, who left Barcelona in 2013 for Bayern Munich.
Inter Milan have been struggling in the league as of late after a strong start to the season, and with Roma cracking hard on the door for the Champions League spots (they sit just 3 points behind 3rd place Inter), Spalletti needs to strengthen his squad to help their efforts in securing Champions League qualification.
