The league’s governing body have confirmed that the fixtures for the highly anticipated campaign are being finalised.
Although, the Urban Warriors are applying for an interdict to halt the start of the new season, Chief Operations Officer Professor Ronnie Schloss said the league will start on August 3.
The Ndoro saga was most recently in front of the South Gauteng High Court, where a ruling handed down by Judge Denise Fischer reinstated Ajax to their 15th place finish.
However, the PSL announced that they would appeal the decision and have subsequently not included the Mother City based outfit in their plans ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, the experienced football administrator confirmed that AmaZulu are also not part of the upcoming MTN8 Cup tournament.
Usuthu finished in the top eight last season, but after a ruling by the South African Football Association (Safa) arbitrator, William Mokhari, to dock points from Ajax and award them to some of their opponents, this saw AmaZulu miss out on the top eight.
Moreover, their spot was taken by SuperSport United who initially finished outside the top eight bracket.
“We are still conducting fixtures for the new season, we delayed because we were finalising and confirming the venues,” Schloss told Isolezwe .
“A full list of fixtures could be released by next week,” he added.
“There are no changes in the way teams are at the moment, we will go ahead with how the teams are,” Schloss said regarding the ongoing saga.
