Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane anticipates an open game against Orlando Pirates at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Sundowns are currently unbeaten in their last 22 Premier Soccer League (PSL) games, but Mosimane still expects Pirates to go toe-to-toe with them.

“I always say let’s go toe-to-toe. But you know Sundowns, if you give us two punches, we give you three. Probably we will have a thriller. I mean why not? Let’s have 4-3, I like that. I don’t like 1-0. Let’s do 4-3, 4-4. Not 0-0,” Mosimane told the media ahead of the clash.

Pirates are fresh from three wins in all competitions and are in high spirits, but the hosts will also be eager to avenge the 3-1 defeat which they suffered last season at the same venue.

“It’s a difficult game we are playing. We are playing a good team, free-flowing team, confident team, team on form. They have a good coach (Milutin Sredojevic) We are a team in construction, but that’s part of football. No excuses,” he said.

In addition, the Chloorkop-based did not use their key players in the form of goalkeeper Denis Onyango, Wayne Arendse, Tebogo Langerman and Themba Zwane against Ea Lla Koto, but they are expected to feature against coach Sredojevic's men.

On the other hand, Pirates missed the likes of Ben Motshwari, Vincent Pule, Innocent Maela and Xola Mlambo as they beat Polokwane City 2-1 on Tuesday in the league, but Mosimane expects them to make their return.

“Yes they were resting players, 100 percent. It’s a fact. It’s a big game, they want to win it and we understand,” concluded the coach.
