The Amakhosi legend agrees with the chairman that some players underperformed this season, especially his countrymen Katsvairo and Chirambadare Public

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha says the team needs to sign a player who will make things happen for them.

The Glamour Boys will finish the season empty-handed for the second year running, and the Zimbabwean doesn't see his former employers win anything unless they make at least one big signing ahead of next season.

"Chiefs need a big player to pull the strings. They need a brilliant individual. That's what they are missing at the moment. That's the type of player who will help them win trophies," Nengomasha told Daily Sun.

The retired midfielder spent a decade at Amakhosi where he won back-to-back league titles and numerous Cup competitions.

He left the club in 2012 after the arrival of Stuart Baxter and joined Bidvest Wits before moving to Mpumalanga Black Aces where injuries forced him into an early retirement.

Nengomasha further explained why he feels Edmore Chirambadare and Michelle Katsvairo had a poor first season at the Naturena-based outfit.

"I had time to settle but the two players were thrown into the deep end from the beginning. That's why they failed. There is too much pressure and expectations at Chiefs," Nengomasha said.

The Amakhosi's end-of-season woes continued on Wednesday when they went down 2-0 to Platinum Stars in Rustenburg.

They will finish their season next Saturday when they welcome newly-crowned PSL champions Bidvest Wits at the FNB Stadium.
