The Turkish champions saw off their first Group D opposition with three unreplied goals but saw their midfielder expelled late in the game

Badou Ndiaye was sent off as Galatasaray cruised to a 3-0 victory over Lokomotiv Moscow in their Uefa Champions League opener on Tuesday evening.

The Senegal international played alongside attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda from the start with Nigeria winger Henry Onyekuru settling for a spot among the substitutes, while compatriot Brian Idowu started for the visitors.

Garry Rodrigues gave the Cimboms the perfect start after opening the scoring with a ferocious shot from outside the area in the ninth minute.

Fatih Terim's men would enter the break with the lead, but Ndiaye saw the first of his bookings just before the interval.

In the 67th minute, Eren Derdiyok doubled the lead but with three minutes of regular time left, the midfielder was sent off for a second bookable offence.

That, though, did not stop the hosts from adding a third with Selcuk Inan rounding off the comprehensive victory from the penalty spot.

Belhanda was taken off in the 73rd minute and Onyekuru made his Champions League debut for the Turkish champions in the 82nd minute while Idowu, also making his bow for his Russian side, saw a booking on the hour mark.
