Mustapha aims comfortable finish with Wikki Tourist

Despite losing to Rivers United, the defender is hoping the Bauchi Elephants finish safely above the relegation zone with last few games

Wikki Tourist defender Ibrahim Mustapha says he is hoping his side ends their current season topflight campaign in a 'comfortable' place.

Goals from Guy Keumian, Emeka Ogbuh and Chiwendu Ali ensured Stanley Eguma's men secure maximum points despite Abubakar Lawal's consolation for the visitors.

But the Bauchi Elephants captain blamed their loss in Port Harcourt on poor weather, assuring they will bounce back with home wins over Enugu Rangers and Sunshine Stars respectively.

"We lost against Rivers United. It was a very difficult game for both of us because of the weather," Mustapha told Goal.

"We were both fighting for survival and that why they (Rivers United) would do all what it takes to get maximum points.

"It was also raining that day of game which the home team were already the use to playing with such weather.

"But we have put behind us the defeat and very happy with the 1-1 result between them (Rivers) and Akwa. It will really favour us.

"We are only left with the chance to fight to win our upcoming double home games to move up on the table. I believe we will finish in comfortable position at the end of the season."
